Butler Philharmonic Chorus (BPC)

The Butler Philharmonic Chorus (BPO) is the official choral ensemble of the Butler Philharmonic and is under the direction of Dr. Scott Wyatt. This mixed ensemble of 70+ voices rehearses on Monday evenings at First United Methodist Church , 225 Ludlow St. in Hamilton. The chorus performs 5-6 times per year. It has presented sung choral-orchestral masterworks including Mozart’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Verdi’s Requiem.

The BPC enjoys a reputation far beyond the Tri-State. Described by Shreveport Symphony conductor, Dennis Simons, as “fabulous, and highly professional in sound and work ethic”, the chorus is the pride of Butler County’s vocal arts community.  In March of 2018, members of the chorus appeared with the Dayton Philharmonic under Maestro Neal Gittleman in a performance of the Vaughan Williams, “A Sea Symphony”.

The Chorus has appeared in Carnegie Hall twice; once in 2005 under John Rutter, and again in June of 2018 under Maestro Stanbery.
